Thus, this article uses a metaphor and also puts forward the most important elements of mentoring to help both mentors and mentees embrace mentoring and contribute their share to make it work in their favor. The article tries to answer questions such as how mentoring differs from coaching and counseling; what are the common types of mentoring; the most important roles mentors and mentees should play so as the mentoring relationship to succeed.
